IET Guide to Electrical Aspects of 25 kV AC Railway Electrification
The purpose of this guide is to provide the fundamental principles that underpin electrical aspects of AC railway electrification and its sub-systems together with detailed guidance on how to specify and develop system and equipment solutions based on best practice examples of design process and implementation, including signposting other reference material.
This is with the aim of assisting electrification engineers, at all career stages, who wish to consolidate or increase their skills and knowledge in AC railway electrification and its best practice – with an eye on an expected increase in demand for skilled resources to support future new electrification in the UK.
