How updates are published

Editorial corrections, consisting of minor changes to publications, will be made quarterly.

Urgent technical changes that need to be made will be published as and when required.

Draft for Public Comment: Amendment 2 to BS 7671:2018 (IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition)

The Draft for Public Comment for BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 is available from Monday, 21 September 2020 on the BSI website.

Amendment 2 contains proposed changes throughout BS 7671, including a new Part 8: Functional Requirements.

The DPC runs until 11 December 2020 for you to view the draft and submit your comments via the process outlined on BSI's website. The JPEL/64 committee with then review all submitted comments, and Amendment 2 is expected to publish in Spring 2022.

BS 7671:2018+A1:2020 Corrigendum May 2020 is to amend some issues that have arisen in BS 7671:2018+A1:2020 since publication.

Why is there a £5 charge to download a printable copy?

IET is the joint publisher of BS 7671 with BSI. BSI is the National Standards Body for the UK and is the copyright holder of standards emanating from IEC and CENELEC; Section 722 of BS 7671 has its origins in IEC and CENELEC. IEC and CENELEC standards cannot be given away freely.

Access to the document is provided and it can be viewed electronically but, if anyone needs a hard copy, a charge is levied.
